Swampscott Massachusetts is a small scenic seaside community located north of Boston and is home to a large number of commuters who board the train each morning from one of the last remaining Victorian style depots in the country.

There are actually many other interesting and historic buildings situated in Swampscott. They include Marian Court once known as White court which was the summer residence of Calvin A. Coolidge and a Georgian style town hall which was the former home of Elihu Thompson who was the founder of the General Electric Company.

Swampscott beaches attract visitors of all ages who enjoy their refreshing ocean breezes. Fisherman's Beach provides a picturesque view of Swampscott Harbor with its many brightly colored fishing vessels and pleasure boats. Swampscott is responsible for two major contributions to the fishing industry-the Swampscott dory and the lobster pot. These are both still used by fishermen world wide.

Seascape Window & Wine Tasting Event
Create a unique work of art while sampling great wines at Sea Glass Wine & Beer! Using sea glass, shells, starfish and other gifts from the sea, you will design a beautiful 8x10 window that can be placed in a window or on a wall. Fee includes all materials+wine tasting. For a more meaningful keepsake you are encouraged to include your own sea glass and beach treasures. Your seascape masterpieces will be fused after the workshop and available for pickup at Sea Glass Wine & Beer on Saturday,10/3.   FAQs  Do I need to bring a ticket? We don’t use paper tickets at Seascape Workshops. Your name will be on the guest list when you check in. What is provided? All supplies are provided, but you are welcome to bring your own sea glass and beach treasures. How long does the workshop last? The event will kick-off with a formal wine tasting beginning at 7pm. After, you can continue to enjoy your favorite wine while creating your masterpiece. The average time to create an 8x10 window is about 90 minutes.  When and where do I pick up my finished Seascape Window?  During the workshop, the instructor will assist you in designing your own seascape window. The elements are fused into the glass through a 3-day process at the instructor’s studio.  You can pick up your finished pieces at Sea Glass Wine & Beer on Saturday, 10/3 after 12pm.

5th Annual Swampscott Arts and Craft Festival

The scenic oceanfront Linscott Park in Swampscott, Massachusetts will come alive with color, flavor and music for the Swampscott Arts and Craft Festival on Saturday, September 12 and Sunday, September 13, 2015.

Over 75 Juried Craftsmen and women from all over New England will display and sell their American made works including Stained Glass, Original Watercolors, Pen and Ink Drawings, Photography, Embroidery, Pottery, Carved Wildlife, Folk Art, Hand Crafted Soaps, Country Wood, Fleece, Pillow-Quilts, Metal Sculpture, Tree Skirts, Pewter, Blown Glass, Doll Clothes, Fine Jewelry, Floral Design, Painted Stemware and more. 

Come and sample the culinary delights of herbal dips, maple products, roasted nuts, homemade fudge, kettle corn, cotton candy and more. 

Artisans have always been at the forefront of recycling, recreating something new from something used. Come and meet the artisans who create these locally made, eco friendly gifts and home décor … Such as wind chimes made from old depression glass, cheese boards created from wine bottles, wearable art felted from discarded woolen sweaters, door mats woven from lobster rope, birdbaths from old crockery and so much more. 

Festival hours are Saturday from 10am to 5pm and Sunday from 10am to 4pm.

Live musical entertainment each day.

The Fair is held rain or shine, handicap accessible and admission is free.
